    Hi Liz,

I have not been able to find an RIA who would take an account less than 1 million dollars. The often advertise as fee only financial planners but that is a misrepresentation in all cases I have seen: They either manage investments and do a very small amount of financial planning, if any but the “Fee only Financial planner” is a hook to get the accounts to invest.

What I would like is to pay someone for investment and planning advice and take their advice but do the actual investing myself. I can’t find anyone who will do that in the Phoenix area.

    Happy New year,

    Chris Schene

Not all financial planners are RIAs. If you want a financial planner who charges by the hour, check http://www.garrettplanningnetwork.com.
