Dear Liz: I am trying to find a CPA personal financial specialist per your column. Using the link you provided, I was told that there are zero people who fit that description in my area, which is hard to believe. Can you help?
Answer: A spokesperson for the American Institute of CPAs, which provided the link, notes that the directory’s “search by Zip code” function isn’t working properly and suggested searching by state or city instead.

Dear Liz,
I also tried to find a CPA personal financial specialist (PFS) per your column. I will try again as you now say to look by city not zip code. In my search, a website came up for Certified Tax Planners (CTP) certified by Certified Tax Coach.org, American Institute of Certified Tax Planners
https://certifiedtaxcoach.org/directory/
Are PFS and CTP similar CPA specialists but accredited by different organizations?
I am looking for help to best strategize my income taxes with my brokerage investments while doing RMDs. I failed to plan properly before retiring as I did not realize that RMDs fattened by the stock market would increase my retirement income significantly and bump into the Medicare higher MAGI that increases premiums. My options could now be limited, but I hope to strategize a plan for the lowest possible taxes. Thank you.

You’ll find the PFS designation in the first drop down box, under “Credential/designation name.”
