Okay, it may not be a Nobel Prize, but I recently got word that I’ve been awarded the 2010 Betty Furness Consumer Media Service Award by the Consumer Federation of America. The awards honor “individuals who have made exceptional progress in American consumerism.” (They mean the old-school definition of consumerism, as in advocating for a greater protection of consumer interests, rather than the new-school, buying-everything-in-sight definition.)
Previous award winners include the Today Show’s Jean Chatzky and Caroline Mayer of the Washington Post. I’m honored and humbled to be in this company.
