		<description>As someone who declined the rental company coverage and instead relied on my American Express card-as Amex encourages cardholders to do--let me warn that it took five months and many anxious moments (and a $22,000 bill form Avis) to resolve a stolen car when the facts of the matter were clearcut. Reading the Amex benefits fine print fails to reveal much pertinent information, such as what the the coverage actually covers and how much it is (up to $50,000). I would suggest trying the little-known flat-rate Premium Car Rental Protection available from AMEX Assurance--up to 42 days of PRIMARY coverage for a flat rate of $17.95 ($24.95 if you&#039;re not in California).</description>
