Mmmm, that would be nice, wouldn't it?

It's hard to judge how serious ING might be about adding cards to the lineup. After my tweet, and after @ManVsDebt tweeted his hopes ING Direct wouldn't go that route, here's what we heard back from the bank: "@lizweston @manvsdebt Thanks! Surveys help us keep up with our Customer's opinions on riveting topics such as peanut butter & hair cuts too."

I would consider a credit card from ING Direct if they plan on creating a product that offers a better deal than the top competitors. For me, that would entail cash back rewards, not necessarily interest rate. If a new credit card product increases ING Direct's ability to move savings interest rates up so they are once again competitive with the best of the high-yield rates, I wouldn't mind.

I already use a charge plate with Amex. I don't think I'd use ING's credit card since I don't use their ATM card for my accounts with them anyway. Plus I do like the Amex rewards program and I don't need a new credit account to drag down my credit score.

As much as they've branded themselves as an 'anti-bank' they can make revenue however they want. I do not have to use a product just because they have it. (I don't use Sharebuilder no matter how much they push it on me.)
