Yesterday FNBO announced that Kristen Shaul was the winner of the online bank’s Pay Yourself First Challenge, a savings contest. Kristen, who is saving for nursing school and to open a clinic in the Dominican Republic, exceeded her savings goal during the six-month challenge while offering terrific insights about the journey on her PYF blog. (CLICK HERE to read what she had to say.)
But I’d also like to highlight something one of the other worthy challengers said during the press conference announcing Kristen’s win. Challenger Alexa said that contentment was the key to a successful savings strategy. Being happy with what you have, rather than constantly thinking about what you don’t, makes it easier to stash the cash. (CLICK HERE to learn more about Alexa and the other challengers.)
